K-9 Drug Program
In 1996, the Sheriff’s Office began a Canine Program to assist in detecting illegal drugs in the Catoosa County School System. The Sheriff’s Office purchased the Patrol Canines with illegal drug condemnation funds at no cost to the citizens of Catoosa County. The Canines are cross trained in illegal drug detection, tracking fleeing suspects, evidence collection, and officer protection. The Canine Deputies are assigned regularly to Catoosa County Schools to check student lockers and vehicles for illegal drug activity. By utilizing programs such as the Canine Program, Sheriff Sisk proves that a top priority of his administration is to keep our schools safe and drug free.
