Alleged Juvenile Assault
March 1, 2013.1:25 PM

According to Sheriff Gary Sisk, on February 8, 2013, the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office Areceived a complaint from Davida Caylor alleging that a juvenile student had been assaulted at Heritage High School by Assistant Principal Eric Beagles.  The assault allegedly occurred on the school campus during regular school hours.  After the complaint, the case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division for follow-up investigation.

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office conducted a thorough investigation and obtained numerous interviews and pieces of evidence, including evidence provided by Ms. Caylor.  The evidence was then sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Medical Examiner’s office.

Based on the findings of the investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office and the opinion of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Medical Examiner’s Office, the case was determined to be unfounded.

The information was then sent to the Catoosa County District Attorney’s Office for review.

After reviewing the case, Assistant District Attorney Alan Norton agreed with the findings by the Sheriff’s Office.  Mr. Norton further advised that criminal charges should be brought against Davida Caylor. As a result of the recommendation by the District Attorney’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office obtained two felony warrants for the arrest of Davida Caylor charging her with Giving False Statements and Tampering with Evidence.

On February 28, 2013, at 1800 hours, Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to Ms. Caylor’s residence located at 184 Rolling Hills Drive, Ringgold, Catoosa County, Georgia to serve the arrest warrants.  Ms. Caylor refused to cooperate with deputies resulting in additional charges of Obstruction of a Police Officer and a second count of Tampering with Evidence.  Ms. Caylor is currently incarcerated in the Catoosa County detention facility where she is awaiting a first appearance hearing in Catoosa County Magistrate Court.

No information will be released about the juvenile involved in this case due to his age in accordance with Georgia state law.
