How do I bond out someone that has been incarcerated in the Catoosa County Jail?
If the person has a bond and no outstanding charges or holds at other locations, they may post bond in one of the following ways:
-
- Property Bond: Only property located in the State of Georgia will be accepted. If the property is located in Catoosa, the properties “net” worth must be double the amount of the bond and the taxes must be paid up to date. The Sheriff’s Office will check the value of the property from the office. If the property is located outside of Catoosa County, you will have to go to that county’s Sheriff’s Office in which they property is located. Other counties property bond rules may be different than what is required from Catoosa.
- Bonding Companies: Catoosa County only utilizes those bonding companies approved by the Sheriff; no other bonding company may be used. The bonding company will charge a percentage of the amount of the bond. This amount is set by the bonding companies, not the Sheriff’s Office.
- Cash Bond: All cash bond amounts must be exact change; the Sheriff’s Office does not make change. No credit/debit cards or checks will be accepted.
All bonds must be accompanied with a State of Georgia Bond fee of $20 and must be paid in cash.
Once a bond has been posted, how long will it take for the inmate to be out-processed?
There is no set time for an inmate to be out-processed. The safety and security of the jail is the top priority and based on traffic in the jail, movement, and established processes, there is no way to predict the time it will take for an inmate to be released.
I signed a bond for someone and they were arrested. Can I remove myself from the bond I previously signed?
A person out on bond under a “Property Bond” can only be surrendered if he or she is either in custody in Catoosa jail or they are brought to our facility. Property bond surrenders will not be allowed if they are incarcerated in another facility. To begin the process, either bring the person to the jail or request a bond surrender form.If the person is out on bond with a “Bonding Company” the bonding company may surrender if the person is in another facility in surrounding counties only. Outside of the surrounding counties, the bonding company will need to have approval from the Jail Administrator or higher. When a bond surrender is completed by a Bonding company, the individual making the bond will not receive their money back unless agreed upon by the Bonding company.
