Types of Bonds
A bond is a financial guarantee to assure a defendant’s appearance in court. The defendant must appear in court unless otherwise directed by a Judge of the appropriate Court. The Catoosa County Jail accepts the following types of bonds.
A cash bond may be posted by anyone. A cash bond requires cash (U.S. Currency only) in the full amount of the bond. The cash amount must be exact, the Jail cannot make change.
A property bond may be posted by individuals who own property within Catoosa County. A current tax receipt showing the owners, property value, and that the taxes are paid up to date must be brought to the Jail. All persons listed on the tax receipt must be present and sign the property bond.
A transfer bond is a property bond signed by individuals who own property in another county in Georgia. A transfer bond must be signed at the Sheriff’s Office where the property is located. The individuals signing the transfer bond must return the bond to the Catoosa County Jail in a sealed envelope from the Sheriff’s Department where the bond was signed.
